Bosman Avenue
Situated in Llandudno, Cape Town, this coastal home is shaped by its dramatic setting between mountain and sea. The architecture unfolds across layered planes, orientated toward uninterrupted ocean views while remaining anchored into the natural slope of the site.
Generous terraces extend the living spaces outward, framing sunsets and coastal horizons. Deep overhangs, vertical timber screens, and planted roof edges temper light and wind, creating a balance between openness and shelter. Internally, expansive glazing dissolves the boundary between interior and exterior, allowing the landscape to become part of the daily living experience.
To the rear, a more intimate garden courtyard and entertainment pavilion provide protection from the elements, forming a series of outdoor rooms embedded within lush planting. Natural stone, timber detailing, and restrained material tones ground the home within its coastal terrain.
The result is a contemporary dwelling that responds directly to Llandudno’s rugged beauty — open to the sea, sheltered by the mountain, and integrated into its landscape.
